server with other customers, as with Virtual Web Server

When do you need a dedicated server?
While simple, text-based sites are better suited
for a virtual shared server, the more complex websites
operate more efficiently on a dedicated server because
they are more secure and provide better performance.
Therefore, those sites that have secure information,
a high number of visitors or complex applications
(i.e. extensive online shopping, data capture pages,

What is the difference between managed servers and
dedicated servers?
With a Dedicated Managed Server, our Web Engineers
are responsible for the web server and all applications,
and ensure they are operational around the clock.
We only work with tested applications and do not readily
support customized applications. The customer has
full control over the site content and is able to
make changes by FTP at any time.
A Dedicated Server offers root and administrative
access. This is important for Web sites built with
custom applications that are not supported by OTR.
We still offer hardware maintenance support and 24x7
technical support, but all applications are loaded
and supported by the customer.
What are Managed Services?
Managed Services are services that can be added to
your server for enhanced security and performance.
For instance, a firewall can be added to your server
to protect sensitive information, and a load balancer
may be added to manage incoming traffic and deliver
faster load times. These services are optional, but
recommended for increased security and performance.
